Silawrap NRF net replacement film in stock

We stock Silawrap NRF - net replacement film that does away with netwrap on combination baler-wrappers and wraps the barrel of the bale in film instead.

What it does

Rather than holding the bale with net, NRF wraps extra layers of film tight around the barrel. That does two useful jobs at once: it holds the bale in shape, and it adds to the oxygen barrier - and a better seal means better-preserved silage, less mould and less waste. It is a 5-layer co-extruded film built for puncture and tear resistance, and it runs on combi baler-wrapper units like the McHale Fusion 3 Plus. There is no net to peel off separately at feeding - the whole bale is film, so opening up is quicker and cleaner.

The film was developed in 2015, and more than 20 million bales have been made with NRF and Mima NRF since.

Why farmers use it

  • Better seal, better silage: extra film layers around the barrel improve the oxygen barrier, helping preserve feed quality.
  • Less mould and vermin damage: more film on the bale means less risk of damage.
  • Tidier bales: the film compresses the bale and helps it hold its shape in the stack.
  • Less work at feeding: no net to separate from the film when you open a bale.

The spec

  • Roll length: up to 2000 m
  • Roll width: 1380 mm (recommended for grass silage), 1280 mm (recommended for maize)
  • Clear film, UV-stabilised, with a coloured core so you can spot the film end for quick reloading

If you are running a baler-wrapper and want to try film instead of net, have a word and we will talk you through it.
