Bateman sheep handling trailer in stock

A Bateman sheep handling trailer loaded with galvanised hurdles and marked with the Bateman name, parked on a farm lane

A full Bateman sheep handling system has landed in the yard, mounted on its own trailer and ready to work. It is built to handle up to 250 sheep, so it suits a decent flock without needing a permanent set-up in the shed.

There is one at £6,500 plus VAT, and when it is gone it is gone.

What is in it

  • Corrosion-resistant polypropylene
  • Two-way shedding gate and spring-loaded drafting gates
  • Backing gate, included with this one
  • Twenty-seven 6ft galvanised hurdles with skids
  • Braked winch

The axle is the part worth knowing about

The axle is removable, using a hydraulic hand pump. That is the difference between a trailer you tow to a job and a handling system you can set down properly where you want it - the pens sit at ground level rather than on the trailer bed, so sheep flow in and out without a ramp and without anybody climbing.

It also means one person can set it down and pick it up again safely, rather than needing a second pair of hands and a tractor.
